The RTD documentary tells the story of Russian WWF staff working to preserve rare and endangered wildlife. Filming was conducted in different regions of the country - in the Primorsky Territory, in Southern Siberia and in Chukotka.

“Of course, the movie is wonderful. The RTD channel shot it for the 25th anniversary of WWF Russia. For a quarter of a century, the fund’s employees have been exerting so much effort to save the Red Book and rare animals in order to preserve, and sometimes even increase the territories of reserves, to fight against poaching. And the film was beautifully shot, and the people there are simply amazing, ”said scientist-zoologist and TV presenter Nikolai Drozdov.

“The heroes of our film are people who risk their lives to save animals. Often their work, despite its importance, remains behind the scenes. We decided to fix it, ”said Ekaterina Yakovleva, head of the RTD television channel.

RTD presented the stories of Tatyana Minenko, the head of the Bear Patrol in the Chukchi village on the Arctic Ocean, Igor Karyakin, the head of the experiment on introducing saker falcons into the wild, and Pavel Fomenko, head of the rare species department of the Amur branch of WWF Russia.

“I think I have done a lot with my colleagues. But there is still a bit left - we need to make sure that the tiger survives in the wild, because it is not just a predator, it is an indicator of the state of nature in which we live. As long as there is a tiger, everything is fine, ”said Pavel Fomenko.

The author and director of the film is Natalia Karachkova, and the cameraman is Stanislav Guryanov.

Closed screening of the film Wild and Free RTD will take place on December 10 at the Illusion cinema (Moscow, Kotelnicheskaya Naberezhnaya, 1 / 15kVK house).

Collection of guests at 19:30

After the film screening, there will be a discussion with the filmmakers and representatives of the World Wide Fund for Nature ( WWF ).
