“In anticipation of international Black Friday promotions, Roskomnadzor considers it necessary to warn users about the appearance of“ landing ”pages on cybercriminals' websites that, under the guise of marketing sales, illegally collect personal data,” the agency’s press service said in a statement.

It is noted that fraudsters can use the collected information as “spam” databases, as well as to steal bank card data.

In this regard, the department called on Russians to check the originality of the domain of the online store, the presence of SSL-certificate, user agreement, privacy policy, contacts, as well as to distinguish between the structure of pages with the original site and suspicious payment forms.

Earlier, a Hi-Tech Mail.ru poll showed that one in five Russians is interested in Black Friday.

It was clarified that 84% of those interested in the action intend to purchase any product during it.

As Nation News informed, Rospotrebnadzor experts on the eve of Black Friday gave recommendations on how not to become a victim of scammers.
