Lyudmila Verbitskaya buried in the Northern cemetery near St. Petersburg

“The farewell and funeral of Lyudmila Alekseevna Verbitskaya ended,” TASS was told in the press service of the university.

Verbitskaya was buried next to her husband, a Soviet scientist and inventor Vsevolod Verbitsky.

The funeral service was held in the assembly hall of the Twelve Colleges of St. Petersburg State University, it was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Later, a funeral service was held in the church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God.

Linguist-Russianist Lyudmila Verbitskaya died on November 24 at the 84th year of her life.
