It was on May 10, 2006, that the man killed his wife by cutting her. He also shot her with multiple gun shots, but could not be ruled out if they were relieved by negligence. All of this happened in front of the eyes of four of the couple's joint children. The motive for the murder was that the husband did not want his wife to leave him.

Received previous rejection

He was sentenced in both district court and court to life imprisonment for murder. He was sentenced in March 2007 and at the time of writing he has served 12 years and 8 months.

On two previous occasions, 2017 and 2018, he has applied for a conversion of his lifetime sentence, which has not yielded any results. Recently he did it a third time and asked to have it converted to 21 years. The prosecutor has now admitted 24 years.

Sitting in a permobile

With the help of an opinion from the Swedish Forensic Medicines Agency, Örebro District Court finds that the risk of the man recurring in serious crime is low. The main reason is the man's deteriorating health. He has undergone several heart attacks, can only get around with a permobile and needs help to cope with everyday chores. In recent years he has become increasingly powerless.

The man spent some time at the Kumla facility but is today placed at the Salberga facility.
