“There was an accident with a bus with 39 Russian tourists traveling to the airport of La Romana to fly to Moscow. As a result of the accident, there are citizens with injuries of varying severity. Fortunately, there are no dead, ”the message said.
According to the Federal Tourism Agency, six Russians are in serious condition. In total, as a result of the accident 27 people were injured, they receive the necessary assistance in various medical institutions of the Dominican Republic.
“There are no dead. All injured tourists are under the supervision of doctors in hospitals. Six of them are in serious condition. All tourists receive the necessary medical care in full, ”said the head of the Federal Tourism Agency Zarina Doguzova.
Meanwhile, the Russian diplomatic mission noted that Russians in serious condition were sent to medical facilities in the capital of the republic of Santo Domingo for urgent surgical operations. Those who did not need medical care are accommodated in hotels, some have already flown to Russia.
“The head of the embassy in Punta Cana maintains constant contact with the hospital administrations, which provide assistance to the injured, local authorities, as well as with the Russian travel agency Anex Tour, which organized the vacation. The embassy keeps the situation under control, ”the diplomatic mission explained.
