“It is difficult to give a definitive answer, because there are people who over long holidays in the winter, they burden someone. I do not like the explanation, the argument that this puts a strain on the economy. That is, days off for workers cannot be regarded as some kind of additional evil for the economy. Then we must also relate to all weekends and holidays, ”said Belyaev.

The expert emphasized that he is a supporter of the long New Year holidays, when you can spend time with your family.

“Moreover, we have on the agenda the maintenance of the family, family values and traditions. Reducing long holidays to literally two to three days, and then lengthening your vacation is a dubious thing. Although there is no unequivocal opinion here and cannot be, ”he concluded.

Earlier, the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, Yaroslav Nilov, proposed reducing the duration of the New Year holidays.

The parliamentarian noted that it is possible to make obligatory holidays the period from December 31 to January 3, and the remaining days can be included in paid vacation.
