News agencies quoted witnesses as saying that two Iraqi demonstrators were killed today in Baghdad and 16 others were wounded.

Central and South
The cities of central and southern Iraq today witnessed clashes between protesters and security forces caused injuries, and there were cases of suffocation in the provinces of Babylon and Karbala.

Witnesses in the southern province of Qadisiyah said the demonstrators blocked the Diwaniya-Najaf bridge and the road linking the city with the provinces of Muthanna, Dhi Qar and Basra in the south of the country.

In Najaf, local sources said that the Teachers Union in the city decided to stop working hours until the right atmosphere and the return of security stability and open streets in the city.

In Basra (southernmost), witnesses reported that demonstrators blocked the main roads leading to Umm Qasr port, Khor al-Zubair port, fertilizer plant, storage and export complex and gas station to produce electricity using burning tires in light of security instability and the spread of demonstrators in the streets shouting to topple the government.

In the meantime, the Iraqi Council of Representatives finished the second reading of the draft legislative elections and the Independent High Electoral Commission, and lifted its session to Tuesday.
