Russian anti-doping agency (Rusada) boss Yuri Ganous said on Tuesday that he expects the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to follow the recommendations of its independent committee and suspend Russia for four years of future sports competitions .

"This is the reality," he told AFP. "For four more years, we are plunging into a new anti-doping crisis," Ganous said.

An independent committee of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) on Monday recommended a four-year suspension from Russia of future sports competitions for falsifying laboratory data forwarded to Agency investigators.

If this recommendation were accepted by WADA's Executive Committee, which meets in Paris on 9 December, Russia would not be able to participate in the next Olympic Games (OG) in summer and winter 2020 and 2022 at youth and the Paralympic Games, according to a WADA news release.

"We have a lot of problems in the field of sport, but the hardest and most tragic thing is that our athletes have become hostages to the actions of" Russian "sports officials, Ganous added.
