Led for a long time by Real Madrid, Paris SG snatched the draw (2-2) on Tuesday and secured the first place in group A of the Champions League in a night marked by the successful European return of José Mourinho with Tottenham (4-2).

Started in the 17th minute after a goal from Karim Benzema, Paris suffered a blow in the 43rd minute: while the referee had whistled a penalty and excluded the Madrilenian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois for a dangerous tackle in his area, it is back on his decision after using the video for a foul Parisian earlier in the game, leaving the PSG led at halftime.

Karim Benzema's double in the 79th minute at first seemed to bury Parisian hopes, but he actually woke up Neymar's team-mates, who entered at half-time, with two goals from Kylian Mbappé (81st) and Pablo Sarabia (83) to snatch this unexpected draw.

With this result, Paris can no longer be caught at the top of group A by Real Madrid and should benefit from a more favorable opponent in the draw for the knockout stages. Madrid will also be there, as they qualified before their match in the 1-1 draw between Galatasaray and Brugge FC in the group's other game earlier on Tuesday.

. Group B: Spurs join Bayern

The evening was also marked by the return to European competition of José Mourinho, who replaced the week Mauricio Pochettino on the bench of the Spurs, finalists of the competition last season. The Portuguese technician had not known the C1 since leaving Manchester United in December 2018.

Mourinho initially thought he had a nightmarish night with two goals conceded by his players in the first 20 minutes. But goals from Dele Alli and Serge Aurier and a double from Harry Kane offered the victory (4-2) and qualification at the London club.

Despite this victory, Tottenham can not, however, return to Bayern Munich, who won 6-0 at Etoile Rouge in Belgrade, his fifth win in as many games. Author of the fastest quadrupled of the competition in less than 15 minutes and a total of 10 goals in five games, Robert Lewandowski flies over the scoring charts of the competition.

. Group C: Manchester City qualified without shining

Although hitting his turf (1-1) by Shakhtar Donetsk, Manchester City qualified on Tuesday and is guaranteed to finish first in group C. Behind the formation of Pep Guardiola, three clubs (Donetsk, Atalanta Bergamo and Dinamo Zagreb) will play in two weeks in second place, following Atalanta's 2-0 home win against Zagreb.

. Group D: Juve finishes 1st, Atletico under the threat of Bayer

Juventus also secured first place in their group thanks to their 1-0 success against Atlético de Madrid, with a goal from Paulo Dybala. The Madrid club remains under the threat of Bayer Leverkusen, winner earlier on the ground of Lokomitiv Moscow (2-0) for second place in group D. Atlético will receive in two weeks the Russian club, while the Bayer Leverkusen will receive Juve.
