The parents of ten-year-old Alexei Martynenko, who in July saved children from a fire in the Holdomi campground in the Khabarovsk Territory, were awarded the Order of Courage.

This is reported by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Khabarovsk Territory and the JAO.

“The award to the parents of a young hero ... was presented by the head of the department of educational work of the Investigative Committee of Russia Sergey Petrov. The participants in the solemn meeting honored with a minute of silence the memory of a young hero who gave his life to save others, ”the statement says.

In August, it became known that the authorities decided to award Martynenko posthumously for his actions during a fire in the Holdomi campground.

On July 23, a fire broke out in the Koldomi children's camp. The fifth grader Alexei Martynenko during the fire helped the children from the burning tent to escape. The boy received severe burns and died in the hospital.
