In an interpellation from the Left Party's Lennart Arvidsson, the discussion about the school bath came up at the municipal council. The Recreation Board believes that no payment has been made for the schools' compulsory swimming lessons at Navet and this has led to the board having a deficit of four million since Navet's start in 2016. Therefore it has been proposed that all outdoor swimming in the municipality should be closed.

"Agree"

But according to the municipal council Hans Lindberg (S), the board has received money and refers to a decision that was made as early as 2007 where it is stated that the recreation board is both responsible for and received funding for the swimming lessons in the municipality.

- We agree that the budget set by the council is valid and that the recreation board has received money for the school baths. But then there is a discussion about how the Navet will be financed in the future, he says, pointing out that it is there that a possible solution to the future of the outdoor bath can be.

Lindberg (S) also adds that it is not an option to close down the three outdoor swimming pools in the municipality, more on that you can see in the clip above.

On November 27, the Fritidsnämnden will decide on next year's budgetary framework. On December 18, the 2020 budget will be set.
