It was during Monday afternoon that police received a call about an ongoing house burglary in Snöstorp in Halmstad. An outside person had then seen a suspected offender move in the villa. When police arrived at the scene, they found a broken patio door and went in with a dog patrol.

The man who was in the villa was arrested on suspicion of gross theft.

"He had not been able to get anything with him, but since it is a burglary, it is classified as gross theft," said police spokeswoman Jenny Widén.

Drunk thief

According to police, the man was intoxicated and will be questioned when he sobered.

How common is it that the perpetrator is caught during the burglary?

- The most common thing is that it is discovered when people come home and the perpetrator has left the place, says Jenny Widén.

She continues:

- It is not uncommon for daytime people to be at work, or during the weekend when people are rested.
