Consulate General checks data on Russian citizen's detention in Catalonia

This was reported in the Russian diplomatic mission.

“In connection with the publication by the Mundo newspaper of information about the detention of two people in La Junker, one of whom is possibly a Russian citizen, a consular check is being conducted,” TASS quoted the statement as saying.

The Consulate General of Russia has already sent formal requests to the competent authorities of Spain.

Russian diplomats noted that the detainee did not apply for consular assistance.

On November 23, Mundo wrote that an investigation had begun in Spain in connection with the detention in Catalonia of a Russian and a Ukrainian, in whose car a “Russian-made grenade” was discovered.
