After weeks of rumors, it's now official, Michael Bloomberg embarks on the US presidential election. The billionaire joins the Democratic primary that already has 17 candidates. He put on his huge personal fortune to block Donald Trump.

Businessmen, mayor of New York for 12 years, Michael Bloomberg puts forward a leader image and builds on his experience. A path marked all the same by polemics as remarks deemed offensive to women, or a police policy discriminating against African Americans and Latinos during his New York mandate.

To catch up in the race, Michael Bloomberg relies on his fortune estimated at more than 50 billion dollars . He has already spent millions to offer TV commercials. This earned him the criticism of his Democratic rivals who accuse him of wanting to buy the election.

Michael Bloomberg reminds him that he has always put his fortune at the service of the country by investing in causes such as climate change, the fight for gun control, or student debt.
