Monday, November 25 begins the trial of the driver of the truck-mass grave on which had been discovered the dead bodies of 39 Vietnamese migrants. On October 23, the bodies of 31 men and 8 women were found on board a container in the industrial area of ​​Grays, east of London.

Maurice Robinson has been charged with 39 counts of manslaughter, conspiracy to smuggle human beings, conspiracy to smuggle and launder money. The 25-year-old Northern Irishman traveled with his truck to the port of Purfleet in Essex to pick up a container from the Belgian port of Zeebrugge.

Half an hour later, in the industrial area of ​​Grays, the dead bodies of 39 people were found. Ten teenagers, including two 15-year-old boys, were among the eight women and 31 men found in the truck's refrigerated trailer.

Another man, Christopher Kennedy, a 23-year-old Irish national, will also be appearing from another court. He has been accused of trafficking in human beings.

The hearing should determine whether or not the driver was aware of the presence of these 39 people.
