According to Olenchenko, in this statement there is no “military sound”, as it is an attempt by the Ukrainian side to “internationalize” the issue of Crimea.

“From the side of Ukraine, attempts are constantly being made to give the status of Crimea international significance, to attract attention and position Crimea as an international problem. And I believe that this statement by a high-ranking Ukrainian military is subordinate to this task, ”the political scientist said.

In his opinion, all issues related to the Crimea should be decided by Russia, of which the peninsula is a part.

“Crimea is a part of Russia, and if we are talking about some issue of the Crimea’s international relations, this is decided through Russia, this is decided by Russia,” the expert added.

Khomchak said earlier that Russia considers the Crimean peninsula not as a place for Russians to relax, but as "a powerful base that should" nightmare "the whole of Europe and northern Africa."
