The International Institute for Tolerance has announced the start of competitions for the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Tolerance.

He added in a press conference held today that the door was opened for individuals and entities of initiative and achievements, to apply to the award by registering on the website of the award, in accordance with the criteria and conditions approved by the Board of Directors of the award, in order to ensure the highest standards of accuracy, transparency and integrity.

Dr. Hamad Al Shaibani, Managing Director of the International Institute for Tolerance, said that the award is the first global initiative of its kind, which aims to consolidate the concept of tolerance and widen the circle of openness among the cultures and peoples of the world, pointing out that the prizes of up to 5 million dirhams.

He stated that the award establishes a new global approach in promoting the value of tolerance, by celebrating the owners of initiatives and white hands from all countries of the world, and strengthen its position as one of the main pillars of dialogue, peaceful coexistence, belief in pluralism, difference and acceptance of the other.

For his part, the Secretary General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Tolerance, Major General Ahmed Khalfan Al Mansouri, pointed out that the Year of Tolerance declared by the UAE is the biggest proof of the UAE's keenness to strengthen the system of noble human values, which is a fundamental pillar of civilization. The award categories will focus on the areas of knowledge, creativity, culture and art, celebrating global achievements across five key areas: human thought, global literature, aesthetic arts, youth projects, and new media.
