Defense Minister Kono visiting Bahrain in the Middle East met with the commanders of the armed forces and explained the policy regarding the dispatch of the Self-Defense Force to the Middle East, which the government is considering. After completing a series of events, Kono emphasized the significance of dispatching the Self-Defense Forces to strengthen information gathering in the Middle East.

Mr. Kono, visiting Bahrain, gave a speech at the international conference on the 23rd, and on the 24th, he met with the commander of the Khalifa National Army and President Mifrafi of Yemen to discuss the navigation of ships related to Japan. He explained the policy regarding the dispatch of the Self-Defense Forces to the Middle East, which the government is considering to ensure safety.
