A proposed savings object is the last municipal-run village school in Grums, the F3 school in Skruvstad.

- It is never fun to close or close a school. But in this case, we are also building a new school with good conditions for the children who attend the Skruvstad school and will be able to start a new school in the autumn of 2020, says Grums Leif Haraldsson (S).

34 children would be affected if the Skruvstad school is closed down.

The alternatives are three: School transfer to the developed Southern school in the urban area, to be bused to one of the free schools in Borgvik or Värmskog, or to convert the school in Skrustad to a free school.

- My own free school had been better for the countryside, but there are some obstacles to start already next autumn, says Camilla Nilsson, who has children in the preschool in Skruvstad.

- I will not put any of my children at Södra school inside Grums. There will be some free school in that case, says parent André Liljemark.

"We know how it went"

For Camilla Nilsson, Grum's school does not feel like an alternative.

- The municipality of Grum has big problems in the school and we know how it went when they moved the middle school to Jättestensskolan. Grum Municipality does not seem to be able to handle large schools of 400 students, she says.

The municipal council believes that it is about the whole.

- We must take responsibility for the entire economy in the municipality. When the school increases its cost by 12-13 million from one year to the other, then we have to look at the whole business, says Leif Haraldsson (S).
