Pope Francis Departs from Thailand for Japan November 23, 12:06

Pope Francis of the Roman Catholic Church departed from Thailand on the 23rd noon of Japan time for his first visit to Japan as a Pope in 38 years. In Japan, we will visit Nagasaki and Hiroshima, which are bombed areas, and send a message to the world appealing for the abolition of nuclear weapons, as well as a meeting with the Emperor and a meeting with Prime Minister Abe.

Pope Francis, who had visited Thailand prior to his visit to Japan, boarded a special aircraft at the airport in the capital Bangkok and left for Japan at noon on the 23rd of Japan time.

Pope Francisco will arrive at Haneda Airport before 6pm on the 23rd.

This is the second time the Pope visited Japan for the first time in 38 years since John Paul II in 1981.

We plan to stay in Japan for 4 days until 26th of this month. On the 24th, we will visit Nagasaki and Hiroshima, the bombed areas, and send a message to the world calling for the abolition of nuclear weapons.

On the 25th, a meeting with the Emperor and a meeting with Prime Minister Abe are scheduled in Tokyo.

Pope Francis has set up the theme “To protect all lives” in this visit to Japan, and in line with these themes, such as meetings with victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake and gatherings with young people planned in Tokyo. It seems that it will give a message.
