When the shuttle bus was deployed in September 2018, the idea from a political point of view was to attract even highly educated people living outside the Gnosjö region. The entrepreneurs found it difficult to find the right staff.

- It was difficult to find engineers, among other things. Many did not have a driver's license, so we wanted to test a targeted investment with public transport, says Rune Backlund (C)

Business is paying for the bus

According to Backlund, the region has invested around SEK 1.2 million, but now the bus must be paid for by the business community itself.

- It feels sad. We had hoped for a permanent solution, says Kalle Magnusson, Product Development Manager Thule.

But Kristina Athlei, who is regional development director in the Jönköping Region, emphasizes that the direct bus was a time-limited project.

- This has been limited from the beginning. Project funding in this way can never be permanent without the money being spent to test.
