French Minister of the Armed Forces, Florence Parly, on Saturday (November 23rd), expressed her concern over "the gradual withdrawal of the United States from the Middle East " in Bahrain.

" We have seen a gradual and deliberate disengagement from the United States, " Florence Parly said Saturday at the fifteenth annual Manama Dialogue security conference, held in Bahrain's capital.

Since May, tanker attacks have pushed up the tension in the Gulf. An American UAV was shot down on June 20, Saudi oil facilities targeted, which increased tensions in the area. Each time, it is Iran that is being singled out despite its denials.

And every time too, Washington has avoided the muscled retaliation. After the destruction of the drone, Donald Trump said he had canceled at the last minute strikes against Tehran.

" When the attack of ships remained unanswered, the drone was shot down. When this in turn remained unanswered, major oil installations were bombed. Where does it stop ? Where are the stabilizers? Asked the French Minister of the Armed Forces during her speech.

This week, the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln crossed the Strait of Hormuz to demonstrate the US " commitment " to freedom of navigation, according to the Pentagon. Florence Parly recognized it. " But the trend (to disengagement) is, I think, pretty clear and therefore probably regardless of who will win the next elections " next year, she said.
