Automobile Recycling Demonstration Project First in Thailand with support from the Japanese public and private sectors November 22, 21:27

While dealing with environmental issues has become an issue in emerging countries, the first automobile recycling demonstration project has begun in Thailand in Southeast Asia with the cooperation of the Japanese public and private sectors.

This demonstration project was conducted in cooperation with the Thai government by NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization) and Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan and started on the 22nd in Chonburi Province in eastern Thailand.

In the demonstration project, a Japanese recycling system was introduced in Thailand to properly dismantle scrapped cars and to properly handle CFCs that lead to global warming and oil that causes soil contamination. I will adopt it for the first time.

Despite Southeast Asia's largest automobile producer, Thailand has no legal system or regulations on automobile recycling, and executives of the Thai Ministry of Industry believe that this project will contribute to energy saving and creating a sustainable environment. Said.

NEDO, etc. will conduct a demonstration project until next year and make proposals to the Thai side by creating a car recycling system.

NEDO Director Kobayashi Deputy said, “Thailand is one of the leading automobile producers in Asia, so it makes sense to establish a recycling system here. Thailand is also attracting attention from neighboring countries. I would like to consider expanding into other countries. "
