On January 3, 2020, UL's ticket prices will be increased by an average of 3 percent. The single tickets will be increased by one SEK, pre-purchased tickets will cost SEK 33, and single tickets through the travel box will cost SEK 26. The 30-day ticket is increased from SEK 880 to SEK 910.

Why are ticket prices raised?
  • More travelers and more expensive fuel
Ticket prices are being raised to cope with future cost increases. These include procured traffic, that the number of travelers will increase, and that fuel costs will rise.
  • New bus depots
The new city bus depot in Fyrislund, which is expected to be completed next year, also costs money. Partly through rental costs, but also to drive the buses to and from the new depot.
In total, the above-mentioned cost increases amount to SEK 98 million. This is partly compensated for by the increase in travel and the increased ticket prices which result in higher revenues.
  • New train sets
In 2020, more train sets will be purchased, which means an additional cost of SEK 32 million.
  • Tram system
The planned tram system in Uppsala will be investigated, resulting in an increase in operating costs of SEK 13 million.
