Russia is ready to provide Malaysia with its data on the crash of flight MH17 in the Donbass. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov following talks with the Malaysian Foreign Minister Sayfuddin Abdullah, which took place in Moscow on November 21.

Sergei Lavrov emphasized that Moscow made every possible effort to provide the most objective and detailed investigation into the circumstances of the crash of the liner, however, the provided data were ignored by the Joint Investigation Group (CCG).

“And, as I understand it, we did not inform Malaysia about what data we transmitted to the Joint Investigative Group. Therefore, we invited our Malaysian friends to send relevant experts to us, to whom our experts will reproduce everything that they showed and transferred to the Netherlands for the Joint Investigation Team. I hope that this will help our Malaysian colleagues to be more informed than other members of the investigation group would like, ”the Russian Foreign Minister added.

Answering a question from RT during a press conference, Sayfuddin Abdullah said that his country hopes to release independent evidence.

“Malaysia, as a country directly involved in the flight of MH17, participated at some point in the work of the Joint Investigative Group. But, unfortunately, our accession to this process was belated. Secondly, we hope that independent evidence from those who have any evidence, materials should be made public, ”said the Malaysian minister.

He added that in Malaysia, “they are ready to listen to all the people, all those who have any information regarding this disaster.”

A statement by the Malaysian Foreign Minister suggests that his country understands that the investigation is intended to expose Russia as the only party guilty of the tragedy, and at the same time to represent Ukraine as a victim, an expert of the Center for Security Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Konstantin Blokhin noted in a conversation with RT.

“Naturally, the Malaysians need truth, real evidence, because they understand that Russia is not involved in this tragedy. But in the conditions of “alternative facts” and fake news, it is impossible to achieve this from Europe and Ukraine, ”the expert explained.

According to Konstantin Blokhin, it is difficult to predict whether the active participation of Malaysia in cooperation with Russia will influence the course of the investigation.

“But in this case, it is respectful that Malaysia as an injured party is impartial to Russia,” the political scientist added.

Unsolved disaster

The Boeing-777 passenger airliner of the Malaysia Airlines state airline, operating flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed in the Donetsk region of Ukraine on July 17, 2014, when there was an active phase of armed confrontation between the Armed Forces and the forces of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR.

The airspace above the war zone was not closed to passenger aircraft. The disaster killed all 298 people on board, most of whom were citizens of the Netherlands.

Almost immediately after the tragedy, the Western media blamed the unrecognized republics and Russia for the incident.

To investigate the circumstances of the disaster, an investigation team was created from representatives of the Netherlands, Ukraine, Australia and Belgium. Representatives of Malaysia were able to take part in the work of the group only a few months after its formation.

In May 2018, the SSG announced the version according to which the plane was shot down by a 9M38 series missile for the Buk anti-aircraft missile system. SSG investigators also said that a Buk passenger plane that shot down arrived in Donbass, allegedly from Russian territory.

Then some media noted that the SSG’s arguments repeated the statements of the odious British blog Bellingcat, which conducted an “investigation” and accused Russia of involvement in the tragedy based on data from social networks.

On the fifth anniversary of the tragedy of July 17, 2019, the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the investigation of the GCC from the very beginning was intended to bring Russia exclusively guilty, despite the fact that Moscow from the first day interacted with Amsterdam, the Netherlands Security Council and the Joint Investigation Group.

Russia also recalled that it had sent to the Netherlands the declassified "technical and design data of Buk missiles," the raw data of radar surveillance of airspace at the time of the tragedy ", as well as information about the full-scale experiment conducted by the Buk air defense system manufacturer Almaz- Antey. ”

In 2018, the Russian Ministry of Defense also showed signs of falsification of videos used by the SSG. The mounted video allegedly confirmed the presence of the Buk air defense system in territories under the control of the forces of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR.

As a military political scientist, head of the Department of Political Science and Sociology of the Russian University of Economics named after G. V. Plekhanov Andrei Koshkin noted in an interview with RT, the Netherlands commission ignores this incontrovertible evidence, as it “fulfills a political order”.

“This investigation is fully biased towards the concept of lynching Russia in the information space, and for this we need such trials that are completely biased and simply fulfill the will of the United States ... Malaysia is familiar with these arguments. She wants to make sure that the investigation is objective, and does not believe that Russia is involved in this tragedy, ”the expert added.

Hidden evidence

Sergei Lavrov, during a press conference on November 21, said that in order to put an end to the investigation, it is necessary that Ukraine and the United States stop evading the publication of their data.

“No effort is required to present to the world the long-requested facts that already exist. Firstly, these are recordings of negotiations between Ukrainian air traffic controllers, data from radars, primary data from Ukrainian radars, which are not provided under the pretext that all of these radars somehow stopped working at that moment, and, of course, those data that the United States promised - data from its satellites, ”said Sergey Lavrov.

The Russian Foreign Minister added that "none of this has been presented, although it is easier to do this."

Konstantin Blokhin believes that the evidence mentioned by the Russian Foreign Minister is known to members of the SSG, but they still will not reconsider their accusations against Russia.

“Revision is possible only if the attitude of Moscow in the West changes. Today, Western countries are trying to demonize Russia by all possible means and methods, respectively, in this case, the Malaysian Boeing is an instrument of pressure, ”the expert explained.

Andrei Koshkin believes that the position of Malaysia, which it is increasingly voicing, is becoming extremely inconvenient for the GCC and European countries.

“Malaysia frankly confuses the cards for this biased process. I’m sure that the signals sent and sent by Malaysia will ultimately become decisive and, accordingly, the case will be opened in the future and announced who is responsible for this tragedy, where there will be no attachment to Russia, ”the political scientist emphasized.

Andrei Koshkin added that the truth about the tragedy of MH17 will be announced after Moscow and Kuala Lumpur get the publication of the missing evidence in this case.

“Yesterday it was impossible to obtain materials on the case from Ukraine and the USA, today it is very doubtful, and tomorrow it will most likely be within the powers of Russia and Malaysia ... The time will come when there will be different conditions, then the true culprits of this tragedy will be identified ", The expert concluded.
