The government is tightening the rules against car doormen

The government wants to ban the use of vehicles that have unpaid parking fees for too long. The purpose is to access so-called car doormen that are used to ignore parking fines.

In a bill of law that the government decides on Thursday, it is proposed that a vehicle with parking fees that exceed SEK 5,000 and that have not been paid within six months should be banned from use.

If this prohibition is violated, the police or a car inspector shall have the right to take the vehicle registration plates. The proposals are proposed to come into force on 1 January 2021.
