20 November 2019 Work accident inside the reconstruction site of the new Polcevera viaduct. A crane tilted and three workers were slightly bruised. They were immediately rescued and subjected to the appropriate medical care.

Investigations are underway to understand what happened. Workers are at work to secure the area. The crane, tilting, rested on one of the decks that is on the ground for assembly operations. This was announced by the commissioner.

It is the first accident at work in the 'Morandi' construction site. Since the works began, immediately after the collapse, on August 14, 2018, as far as we have learned, an accident never occurred.

From the beginning, the commissioners for the demolition and reconstruction and the owners of the companies that succeeded one another on the site of the disaster underlined how the safety factor was in the first place.

This aspect was also recalled by the 'father' of the new viaduct, the architect Renzo Piano who donated the design of the new bridge to the city, on the occasion of the launching of the first deck at high altitude. Addressing the workers who are rebuilding the bridge, he said: "We work at the table seated in safety you are the worker acrobats, I recommend you work in safety".
