The building in the Austrian town of Braunau am Inn, where the founder of Nazism Adolf Hitler was born, will be transformed into a police headquarters. This was stated by Austrian Interior Minister Wolfgang Peschorn, according to whom "the future destination of the building must clearly demonstrate that it is not a monument to National Socialism". Previously the Austrian authorities wanted to raze the building to prevent it from becoming a place of worship for neo-Nazis. In 2017, the authorities seized the building from the legitimate owner for a payment of 1.5 million euros.
