Foreign Ministry confirms British refusal to issue visas to two Russian journalists

2019-11-20T07:34:45.010Z

UK officials refused to issue visas to two Russian journalists. This information was confirmed in the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed the fact that the British authorities refused to issue visas for two Russian councilors to work in this country," RIA Novosti reports.

An agency source said earlier that in 2019 London refused a visa to several Russian journalists.

According to him, it was a question of “working and going to work in the UK correspondents.”

He explained that one of the persons was not renewed, and the second was not issued without explanation.

In July, the British Foreign Ministry did not issue accreditation to the RT channel for a conference on media freedom.

The authorities also did not issue a visa to an employee of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while Russia was invited to participate and the agency employee was accredited.
