• Corruption. ERE ruling: The Board established an "absolute lack of control" to distribute 680 million in aid

The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office in Seville has requested that four of those sentenced to imprisonment in the ERE sentence have already entered prison. These are former Employment counselors Antonio Fernández and José Antonio Viera and former Labor Directors Javier Guerrero and Juan Márquez.

A letter from the Public Prosecutor's Office has been sent to the Court of Seville requesting the holding of a hearing to analyze the advisability of entering already in prison and, although it has not justified its request, the decision would be taken if there is a risk of escape.

Both Antonio Fernández and Javier Guerrero have already been in prison on a preventive basis during the investigation of the case. Antonio Fernández and Javier Guerrero are sentenced to 7 years and 11 months in prison. On the other hand, José Antonio Viera and Juan Márquez will have to serve sentences of 7 years.

The Prosecutor's Office has not considered this measure for the rest of those convicted with jail sentences, including the former Chairman of the Board, José Antonio Griñán.
