Start of this year's flu vaccination

Today, vaccination for this year's flu begins. Last year it was a type of influenza that mainly affected young people, ie those who are not part of any risk group. This year, the flu virus is expected to be of a type that affects the elderly, and the trend is for more and more people in the risk group to vaccinate over 65. It is worse with other risk groups. Among other things, pregnant women.

One of the major risk groups is people over 65, where the Region Östergötland recommends that everyone vaccinate. And you have been successful.
In 2017, 54 per cent were vaccinated, and 2018 was 62 per cent and this year it is hoped that the figure will reach 65 per cent.

There are no more statistics regarding risk groups, but one risk group is pregnant women and so the question is how do they relate to vaccination.

- I feel that there is a little more vaccination resistance today in women, says midwife Natalie Oldenburg.
