Skellefteå AIK's flight canceled - tonight's match delayed

A slippery runway forced the flight to Stockholm to be canceled, which Norran was the first to tell.

According to Skellefteå AIK's General Manager Erik Forssell, the players are on their way to Luleå airport to make a fresh attempt to get to Stockholm at 16.

- We were told fairly quickly that the plane that came to Skellefteå had difficulties landing. Then we were told that it was completely canceled, he says.

The usual time for the drop was at 6pm on Tuesday but because of this the match will be delayed. However, when new start time becomes clear.

- SHL is working on it and I think it will be until 20, but SHL has to answer that, says Erik Forssell.

Are the players affected by any of this?

- They are professional and will do their best regardless. It is important to handle it as well as possible.

According to Skellefteå Airport CEO, they are working too full to get order on the runway, but at present it is unclear when the flights will be able to return as usual.

- We do everything we can. It is slippery everywhere and when it comes to rain on a cold runway it is very difficult. We are sweeping with steel brushes and plows but new water is coming all the time, says Robert Lindberg.
