2019-11-19T13:52:44.609Z

On Tuesday, Chamber Prosecutor Gunnar Jonasson brought charges after the accident in which an 18-year-old caretaker lost his life after a bear attack in Orsa Predator Park, summer 2017. - I make the assessment that the danger of life at the event was high, there could have been five dead in the hedge, he says.

The investigation is about 2,600 pages and was completed in the late spring of 2019. Since the prosecution and their defender were told their case, on Tuesday, prosecutor Gunnar Jansson brought charges at Mora district court against two former senior managers at the zoo.

- When you have such a facility, you should conduct an active work environment work and an active safety work. I make the assessment that work and activity in the hedge has not been properly risk assessed. Nor has it been sufficiently verified that the fence has been restored to its proper level of security after the bears dug at the fence.

According to Gunnar Jansson, the park had decided on security checks but the work had to continue in the hedge even though the checks were not fully performed.
