• Courts: Deputy of Madrid Isa Serra is prosecuted for disorders, attacks and damages

"You are a cocaine woman, a bad mother, a daughter of a bitch , with everything that women have fought, everything is lost with you. They don't even want your own partners." The deputy of Unidos Podemos in the Assembly, Isa Serra, uttered these insults to a police officer, during her participation in an anti-eviction protest for which she has been prosecuted.

The parliamentarian of the purple training has been prosecuted by the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid (TSJM) for the alleged crimes of public disorder , attack and damage for the incidents in which she allegedly participated in January 2014 during an eviction in the neighborhood of Foot washer

It all happened on January 31, 2014, when Isabel Serra went to a house in Lavapiés along with other people from the Stop Evictions platform. The Madrid parliamentarian was in the immediate vicinity of the security cordon established by the State Security Forces and Corps between Mesón de Paredes and Tribulete streets "with the intention of containing those who prevented the eviction."

At 12.00, when the police vehicles were about to leave, about 50 people confronted the agents "uttering insults and throwing blunt objects against police and police vans," according to the TSJM's car.

Protesters called the agents "motherfuckers, murderers, shame would give me a cop . " Specifically, Serra got angry with a police officer whom he called "cocaine, bad mother and daughter of a bitch", as recorded in the car.

Along with the other protesters, Serra also threw blunt objects at police officers and vans, causing some damage. In addition, three police officers were injured.

'He carried the singing voice'

Several agents who intervened in the eviction have recognized Isa Serra as one of the participants in the escrache and have certified that "she carried the singing voice in a particularly aggressive way and encouraging others to increase the agents."

Isa Serra herself told Efe in February 2018 -when she tried to renounce her distress to be tried in an investigative court and not in the TSMJ- that she went to the demonstration to protest an eviction , but that she did not increase or assault "nobody", a story contrary to the version provided by the police.

In that protest, four people were arrested for disobedience to the authority, for refusing to leave the house that had to be evicted by court order.

"I have not committed any of the crimes that are imputed to me," said the regional deputy, who tried to renounce the aggravation after the opening of the oral trial, but was not granted.

Serra has assured that he only participated in the demonstration , and that after the altercations he was not arrested, nor a month later when the Police appeared at the Faculty of Economics where he studied.

Later, he voluntarily went to the courts of Plaza de Castilla to give a statement, but, as he explained, he could not do so because he was not granted this option.
