EU will spend more than 20% of 2020 budget on climate support measures

“21% of the total budget will go to measures to combat climate change,” the European Commission said in a press release.

The European Commission, the Council of the EU countries and the European Parliament agreed on the evening of November 18 on the indicators of the total budget of the countries of the Union (filled mainly by contributions from EU member states) for next year.

Earlier, European Parliament deputy Jörg Moyten called for clarification on whether the European Commission could rule out the possibility that Russia could allegedly finance climate action in Europe.
