In a report to the Health Board's responsibility committee, HSAN, IVO believes that the Kungsbacka doctor was grossly unskilled in his professional practice and that the doctor's credentials should be revoked. The reason is that it came to IVO's knowledge that the doctor treated patients with intravenous ozone. Something that is not allowed in Sweden.

Did not know that the method was not allowed

The doctor states that he did not know that the method was unauthorized in Sweden and believes that the treatment is common in Europe. In total, IVO has reviewed eleven patients' journals that the doctor has treated with ozone in Sweden. The conclusion is that in all cases treatments were performed "without the support of science or proven experience".

According to IVO, intravenous treatment, regardless of preparation, is associated with risks of thrombosis, blood clotting and bleeding. Serious symptoms that have arisen after some of the Kungsbacka doctor's treatments have not been followed up, according to the investigation.

For example, a case involving a patient who had speech difficulties and fever. Another is to receive ozone treatment on eight occasions despite chest pain and breathing difficulties - without examination to rule out acute heart disease.

Has previously been warned

According to the report, all audited journals lack information on what is the reason for the ozone treatment.

HSAN has previously given the doctor warnings about having performed treatments "in violation of science and proven experience". Earlier this year, the doctor received his medical certificate in Denmark.
