40-year gold mining record broken in Magadan Oblast


In the Magadan region, for the first time since 1979, a record of 40 tons of gold mined in a year was broken.

“According to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Magadan Region, the Kolyma miners for the first time since 1979 reached the maximum level of gold mining. As of November 1, gold miners in the region mined 40.23 tons of gold, which is 7 tons more than the same period last year, ”the regional government website said in a statement.

It is reported that the Tenkinsky city district remains the leader in the extraction of gold ore, 16.25 tons mined on the account of its enterprises.

It is noted that Kolyma maintains leadership positions in the gold mining industry in Russia.

Earlier, independent financial expert and analyst Anton Shabanov in an interview with Nation News commented on the data according to which the leaders in the share of high salaries were the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Chukotka, Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Magadan Oblast and Moscow.
