“The regime that carries out economic terrorism against Iran, preventing ordinary people from getting food and medicine, including the sick and the elderly, has no right to so brazenly declare support for the Iranian people,” RIA Novosti quoted Zarifa as saying published on the Foreign Ministry’s Telegram channel Iran.
According to him, such statements are a “shameful lie” and hypocrisy.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry noted that Washington considers its main task to impose requirements on Tehran through economic pressure.
Earlier, the White House declared the right of Iranians to protest peacefully and condemned the use of force against demonstrators.
The Russian Foreign Ministry admitted the involvement of external forces in the protests in Iran, which began against the backdrop of rising gas prices.
