The victim, Peter Plax, was found seriously injured at a bathing site in Sollentuna north of Stockholm on August 2. He was then found the suspect himself called the police and stated that he had committed a serious crime. Peter Plax was flown to hospital with an ambulance helicopter but his life could not be saved.

Due to, among other things, the 16-year-old's age, the hearing in the District Court has been held within closed doors. According to the district court, the data of the 16-year-old during the hearing were scarce, but the district court believes that it is beyond a reasonable doubt that the 16-year-old committed the crimes for which he was charged.

No clear motive was found during the trial, but according to the district court, there is extensive evidence in the form of blood and DNA analyzes, autopsy records, surveillance films, SMS traffic and other technical and medical investigations.

"Extremely high penalty value"

The District Court writes that the 16-year-old's deeds have an "extremely high penalty value corresponding to a very long prison sentence". But when the 16-year-old is considered to have a serious mental disorder, which also existed at the time of the murder, he is instead sentenced to forensic psychiatric care.

The district court considers that there is a risk that the 16-year-old will recur in serious crime, and therefore the care should be associated with a special discharge examination.

The convicted 16-year-old will also pay damages totaling SEK 306,000.
