Since 1992, people have gathered in the town of Norje to attend the festival Sweden Rock. Over the years, the festival has changed, but now the Municipality of Sölvesborg is making a new investment for 2020. Among other things, the area will be expanded by more than 10,000 square meters.

- From the municipality, we are pleased with Sweden Rock Festival's development plans and that through these they will probably be able to receive the very largest bands. This will benefit Sölvesborg and our entire neighborhood, says Louise Erixon, chair of the municipal council (SD), in a press release.

New activities

With the new area, Sweden Rock will expand with more bands, new food offerings and more environmentally friendly disposable items.

- The planned area improvements enable us to continue to develop and improve our festival here in Sölvesborg, says Mats Natvig, CEO of Sweden Rock Festival AB, in the press release.

Extends the contract

In the press release, the Municipality of Sölvesborg describes that they have set aside an item for development of the municipal-owned event space in the budget for 2020. The changes make it possible to lease the land to other events during the year.

There is currently a ten-year agreement between Sölvesborg municipality and Sweden Rock Festival that expires in 2028, but with the investments made in 2020, a new ten-year agreement will now be signed.

- It is important that we set up when Sweden Rock Festival wants to develop the festival and make sure that more people have the opportunity to visit it. The festival is something that many people look forward to, both citizens of Sweden and visitors, says Roine Olsson tf. group leader (S), in a press release.
