New deadly attack in Mali. Fighting left 24 dead in the ranks of the Malian army and 17 in the jihadists, Monday, November 18 in the east of the country, in a context of continuing security degradation, said the army on social networks.

Malian and Nigerian forces were conducting a joint operation against the jihadists when a patrol was attacked in Tabankort, the army said. The Malian forces "deplore 24 dead, 29 wounded and material damage.On the enemy side there are 17 terrorists killed, a hundred suspects apprehended," she said.

Prisoners detained

The prisoners are in the hands of the Nigerian forces, she said. In a previous statement, the Malian army said it had received the support of the French anti-jihadist force Barkhane in the counter-offensive against the jihadists.
