Four people were wounded by gunfire in Port-au-Prince on Monday during an opposition demonstration marking the anniversary of Haiti's independence battle, a celebration celebrated by the president at least once. , conspired by a large part of society.

Two protesters, a local radio journalist and a policeman were wounded when several hundred opposition supporters marched on one of the capital's major axes, AFP reporters observed. Many shots were exchanged without their authors being identified.

Every November 18, Haiti celebrates the Battle of Vertières which, in 1803, saw the victory of the native army over the Napoleonic troops, prelude to the independence of the first black Republic of History on January 1, 1804.

Located 240 km north of Port-au-Prince, the Vertières site is traditionally the place of commemoration. But Jovenel Moses who did not make the trip was content with a deposit of wreath at the museum adjacent to the National Palace, where held a military parade.
