“During a rally in front of the parliament building, 37 people were detained for violations under Article 173 (disobedience to the police) and 166 (hooliganism),” RIA Novosti quoted the press service of the Georgian Interior Ministry.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs also reports that four people were injured, including two police officers, they were hospitalized.

Earlier, special forces using water cannons, tear gas and batons pushed protesters from the parliament building in Tbilisi. Police detained 18 protesters.

Later, the Georgian parliament resumed work.

Protests in Tbilisi began amid deputies not accepting constitutional amendments on elections.
