France is under the spell of the possible biggest pedophile scandal in the country's history. A French surgeon may have abused 250 children in the last thirty years. He has been stuck for the abuse of four children since mid-2017, but the French judiciary seems to be only now seeing the total scope of the abuse case.

Agents have now interrogated 209 of the 250 potential victims. 184 of them have already filed a complaint against the suspect.

The surgeon is said to have made his victims in the period from 1989 to 2017. Next year he has to appear in court.

The defendant described child abuse in notebooks

The now 68-year-old man is said to have worked throughout the country in his career in several hospitals. He extensively described his abuse scandals in notebooks that agents found at his home. He himself stated that his texts and drawings described his "fantasies".

However, agents also found more than two hundred names of children. The police and judicial authorities subsequently compiled a list of the names of patients who may have been abused by him.

The surgeon was also convicted once in 2005, for owning child pornography. The new case came to light when a girl next door revealed that the doctor had shown his genitals, Le Parisien writes . Then he would have raped her.
