Camouflage colored scarves, cable ties and an iron cutter knife are some of the things found in the trio's car when they were stopped on April 5 in Fagersta. The findings, in combination with other circumstances, caused the police to suspect that the men were about to carry out a robbery. The men were arrested, detained and the case later prosecuted. However, the district court announced that there was insufficient evidence to convict the men who were thus released from the charges they consistently denied.
Between April 6 and May 27, the men were detained and, after the release, applied for compensation for time spent in detention. Something they have now been granted.
Compensation for agent costs is reasonable and acceptable, writes the Chancellor of Justice in the decision announced this week. The money will be deposited into the men's account within a week.
All three have a past in the criminal world and in early November one of the men was arrested again, this time on suspicion of attempted murder of a lawyer. He denies all charges.
