“Probably, during the loading of the remnants of ammunition and their elements, which were prepared for the further destruction (disposal), in particular, of the solid fuel engine for the 3M9 missiles of the Kub anti-aircraft missile system, it was ignited, followed by the explosion of explosive objects accumulated for destruction” , - the message says on the General Staff page on Facebook.
The department also specified that five servicemen were injured as a result of the explosions, four of whom were hospitalized. One victim is in serious condition.
Representatives of the military service of the law and order of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the police continue to work on the territory of the military warehouse.
Earlier, the head of the Kharkov regional administration, Aleksey Kucher, ruled out new explosions in Balakliya.
The state of emergency at the arsenal in Balakley happened on November 15th. During the destruction of ammunition in a military depot, about 20 explosions occurred.
