The "yellow vests" are trying this Saturday for their birthday a return to the sources of this unprecedented social struggle, with multiple calls to manifest everywhere in France. In Paris, Porte de Champerret and Place d'Italie, the police have already had to use tear gas in the morning.

Even before the start of the first authorized marches, the police intervened in Paris with tear gas to disperse small groups of demonstrators. A few dozen "yellow vests" have walked in the morning the Paris ring road at the door Champerret, immediately involving a police intervention. Still in the capital, but on the left bank, Place d'Italie, the police dislodged with teargas grenades a small group that had burned wooden pallets.

A thousand controls

An initial assessment of the police headquarters reported in the late morning of 1,497 preventive controls and 41 arrests in Paris .

The neuralgic points of the capital, from the Champs-Elysées to the Concorde or to the surroundings of the ministries, were squared off by the police. Several metro or RER stations were closed "until further notice" according to the prefecture.

In the province, rallies are scheduled in several major cities including Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes and Toulouse. Calls to reinvest the roundabouts, with or without blockages, have also been launched in Besançon, Calais, Colmar, Dole, Dunkerque or Montpellier, for example.

Hundreds of busy roundabouts in 2018

On November 17, 2018, nearly 300,000 people, fluo chasuble on the back, had answered a call launched on Facebook, out of any political or union framework, and occupied hundreds of roundabouts, symbols of the peri-urban France in power purchase at half mast.
