- It feels important to give the award to a fantastic cartoonist who is also exploring the possibilities of satire and the conditions of the satire artists in our time when freedom of expression is in many ways at stake, says Helle Klein, editor-in-chief of Dagens Arbete and juror, in a press release.

Karin Sunvinsson works as an illustrator, graphic designer and creator. She has a master's degree at the French National University of Applied Arts (ENSAD).

"Shocking"

- Of course, it is a great honor to receive the award, but at the same time I feel a little shaken. As a satirist, you are used to being in resistance, with the garden constantly up. It's a little shocking to get praise, says Karin Sunvinsson.

The EWK Prize is awarded annually by Dagens Arbete and the EWK Society. Previous award winners include Leif Zetterling, Liv Strömquist and Charlie Christensen.

The award is presented at the Museum of Work in Norrköping on November 16.
