Cholet plunged Pau-Orthez into the depths of the French Basketball Championship standings by winning in Béarn 83 to 82, Saturday at the 9th day.

After this fifth consecutive setback, the Elk is in the broom with five other clubs having won only twice. Cholet, on the other hand, continued his fine streak with a sixth consecutive success and climbed on the third step of the podium with Monaco and Dijon (7 wins, 2 losses).

Villeurbanne, opposite Sunday in Bourg-en-Bresse, is leading and undefeated, ahead Boulogne-Levallois (1 defeat). The Metropolitans will make their shortest trip of the season Sunday to Nanterre.

Strasbourg easily disposed of Chalon-sur-Saone thanks to a big game of Damien Inglis (19 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists).
