Nineteen people were killed and others wounded, most of them civilians, yesterday when a car bomb exploded in the northern Syrian city of Al-Bab, which is controlled by pro-Turkish Syrian factions, according to the toll reported by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The Observatory said that among the dead, at least 13 civilians were killed when the car bomb was detonated at a gathering point for taxis and passenger buses in the city of Al-Bab.

The city, 30 kilometers northeast of Aleppo, was the stronghold of ISIS in Aleppo province, before Turkey and its pro-Syrian factions launched a major offensive in the region, during which they seized control of several cities, most notably Al-Bab, in February 2017. .
